Toronto is Canada’s most populous, multi-cultural and cosmopolitan city. This prominent centre for music, broadcasting networks, museums and galleries, entertainment districts and national historic sites attracts more than 25 million tourists every year. Home to the tallest free-standing structure in the Western Hemisphere, CN Tower, it is a perfect city for a weekend trip or an overnight layover. So, if you’re looking to spend your stopover in Metropolitan Toronto, somewhere very close to the iconic CN Tower, then I’ve a perfect recommendation for you. Follow the equation below:
Metropolitan Toronto + Overnight Layover + CN Tower = Soho Metropolitan Hotel
Soho Metropolitan Hotel
On my recent trip to New York, I had an overnight layover in Toronto. Instead of staying at an airport hotel, I chose to stay in downtown so I could spend a few hours sightseeing during the day before my next flight. I’m glad that I made this choice as my favourite attraction in Toronto, the CN Tower was only a short walk away. Having explored the reviews of several hotels, I decided to stay at the Soho Metropolitan Hotel, which later proved to be an excellent decision. I checked in around 9pm and found a lovely handwritten welcome card on the bed, which definitely put a big smile on my face. I really admire when people add little friendly touches in their work. Been up for almost 18 hours, I decided to hit the hay.
Being a curious traveller, I’m aways an early riser on my travels. On a little chilly autumn day, I got up at 6am to start my day and explore the city. As I stepped barefoot into the bathroom, I felt so relaxed cause they had heated floor. Not only that, their facilities included the following:
Deep soaker tub
Multi-head shower stall
Molton Brown toiletries
Italian Frette linens and towels
80 sf dressing room with custom millwork
Marble-clad bathroom with heated floor
Bedside-controlled lights & motorized drapes
Large flat screen television
Blu-ray/dvd/cd player
Laptop friendly safes
Wifi enabled Internet access
92 spacious guestrooms and luxury suites
Spectacular city views
After enjoying a relaxing bath, I was ready to go for breakfast but the comfy bed was calling me again. I decided to plan my next 4 hours sightseeing in downtown Toronto by reading travel magazines provided by the hotel. While I was reading, the lovely hospitality staff left the New York Times at the door. Once the itinerary was planned, I packed my luggage so I could check out and leave my belongings at the reception.
Hands down, this was one of the most comfortable layovers I’ve ever had, trust me on that. I was very relaxed, felt fresh like a daisy and ready to explore the city starting with maple syrup pancakes first. I then hailed the famous orange taxi to kick start my adventure in the Metropolitan Toronto.
Overall Verdict
The overall verdict about my stay at Soho Metropolitan Hotel Residences is Highly Positive. Excellent bed comfort, relaxing bath, luxury amenities and courteous hotel staff, what else could I wish for to make my stopover perfect?
So if you’re looking for somewhere to stay in downtown Toronto, my recommendation would be Soho Metropolitan Hotel for their extra mile hospitality.
